This painting is from the Kagawong River, down river from the falls. The falls are beautiful but as I walked down river I found the contrast between lights and darks very beautiful as well. The soft light was shining in the distance casting the rocks in shadow. Small beams of light shone through the trees highlighting different rocks and the water slowly swirled down the river. This scene was magical and just had to be painted.
