Morning Light on Long Lake

Watching the sunrise on Long Lake is the best part of my day. The trees and winter landscape are dark in comparison to the bright morning light. I painted this landscape with a softer, less detailed approach so the emphasis remained on the first light of sunrise as it touched the tops of the trees on the island. The start of a new day with endless possibilities.
